When I was a child my family would travel
Down to Western Kentucky where my parents were born
And there’s a backwards old town that’s often remembered
So many times that my memories are worn

Another big ride day. 97km and about 1,400m elevation gain. A couple of big climbs, and a lot of short steep ones. Up to 20% grade on some. I need to hydrate better on these rides. I am going to wait a day or two before next ride.

Grip Day. Not entirely uneventful either. We have these crazy Coopers Hawks nesting out back. They are getting very aggressive towards us whenever we are walking around. So much so, that when I was walking back from my hang-board I got buzzed and the bastard actually hit my head. So I’m probably the only guy in the world who wears a helmet doing finger-board drills…

Cycled about 55km. It was hellish windy. Felt like Nibali when it was from behind, but more like Pee Wee Herman when it was from the front. It was a far harder effort than i needed or was intending.

80 Minute hike on rocky trails with some little bit of elevation gain. Up a beautiful riparian canyon. Very restorative.

Stay safe…
