Now I don’t know, but I’ve been told it’s hard to run with the weight of gold,
Other hand I have heard it said, It’s just as hard with the weight of lead.

Big ride today. 112km and about 900m elevation gain. There was this pesky headwind that seemed to be dogging me all day. It still sort of amazes me how many people are still out there riding in groups.

Pull-up day.
Recovery ride. Pretty windy, but I was able to keep my heart rate ‘in the green’. 31 kilometers. Ass was pretty sore from yesterday mind you. I am going to take a few days off from riding.
Simple and Sinister. Starting to reintroduce the 24Kg into the Turkish Get-ups.

It’s supposed to be a ride day, but I’m still taking a few days off to heal up a bit.

We lost one of the great ones to the virus this week. John Prine. Even Bob Dylan recognized John as the best songwriter of the modern era. If there is anybody out there who isn’t familiar with John Prines work, I encourage you to do so. You won’t be disappointed.

Hadn’t run in a month of Sundays, so that’s what I did. An easy 30 minutes on dirt roads. Recovery Heart Rate. I don’t normally check my RHR these days, but this morning it was 45. Even 40 years ago it was never much lower than that.

Also listened to the conclusion of Steve House’s tale of soloing a new route on K7. Riveting stuff for sure. It’s pretty cool that he is doing this for us.

Went for an easy hike in the desert. About 60 minutes, mostly flat.

Simple and Sinister and Mobility. The mobility was sure needed. I can’t believe how sore I was from that run yesterday. Trail running is so much fun; I just don’t know how to fit it all in.

90 Minute hike on rocky trails with some little bit of elevation gain. Mostly a rest day. Pretty lucky that we can do this sort of thing. I heard from a friend in Poland, that they can’t run or walk outside even.
Stay safe…
